This page is dedicated to the memory of Terry

Terry was born and bred in Bury attending East Ward School and Bury High School before attending Manchester University School of Architecture.

Terry, over 57 years, built a successful architectural business, RG Partnership, the head office still located in Manchester Road, Bury.

Terry was involved in many things including the YMCA both locally in Bury, Blackburn and internationally as President of the European Executive, Chair of Bury Athletics Club for more than 40 years, Deputy Chair of Bury Health Authority and 17 years as a Magistrate.

Terry was awarded the MBE in 1987 for his charity work with young people.

We mourn the loss of Terry Ratcliffe. A former president of the John R Mott Foundation and the first president and founder of the European Alliance of YMCAs, Terry was a brilliant leader. Carlos Sanvee, Secretary General of the World YMCA, recalled it took time to earn Terry's trust - but it was worth it, and they shared a mutual respect. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. May Terry rest in peace.
